Prefabricated Steel Commercial Shop & Storage Building in Walterboro, South Carolina

Sunward Steel designed and engineered a custom commercial shop & storage building for a construction and engineering business based in Walterboro, South Carolina, sending the building components to the jobsite in late November 2024.

Used by The Fuller Pile, a trusted manufacturer of foundation piling systems that provide structural support for commercial and residential construction projects, the building offers 5,220 square feet of interior space ideal for housing supplies, fabricating materials and otherwise supporting business operations. The versatile metal commercial shop is equal parts attractive and practical, featuring eye-catching Hawaiian Blue paint paired with Polar White trim on the outside and a liner panel along the inside walls that simplifies maintenance and brightens up the interior.

The shop’s hi-rib steel panels boast innovative siphon-groove technology that keeps moisture from making its way in and threatening the building’s integrity, while its sturdy steel construction easily accommodates heavy foot traffic and industrial use. High ceilings create additional usable space for storing goods or housing oversize machinery or equipment, and the building also features an adaptable design, allowing for easy expansion in the event that spatial needs change in the future.

The steel commercial shop also complies with the building codes governing construction in Walterboro, featuring a high, 134-mph wind speed rating and a 5-psf roof snow load.
