Sunward Steel Buildings., Inc. manufactured and provided this pre-engineered metal building for a customer in Calais, Maine, in May of 1998.
Currently, it functions as a hotel storage area for Calais’ International Motel, a family-owned St. Croix Valley travel destination known for its comfortable accommodations, close proximity to area attractions, and scenic, river-view suites. In addition to housing watercraft, tools, and equipment used in snow-removal and related hotel operations, the storage building serves groups and civic organizations that host events there, giving them space to store goods and gear and a place to access electricity for outdoor affairs when necessary.

Comprised of the highest-quality steel components, the metal storage building stands 33’x45’x12’ once erect, and it features a broad, space-maximizing clear-span design that leaves plenty of room for storage. Dark Green in color, the building boasts a rugged Galvalume roof with white trim and a 2:12 pitch overhead, which helps guard against corrosion and the Maine elements.
The metal storage building also features several accommodations made in adherence to local building code requirements and in consideration of the region’s sometimes-substantial seasonal climate changes. These include an 80-mph wind speed rating and a 35-psf snow load.
