Offering unrivaled strength and durability, the building features top-of-the-line steel construction and functions as an equestrian round track and riding arena on the grounds of Britta Johnston’s Mountain Vista Farm. Johnston, a highly acclaimed international equestrian, uses the facility to teach horseback riding and related skills to students of all ages, drawing upon her training in dressage, show jumping, eventing and vaulting in doing so.
The elite dressage facility and round track are situated within the heart of Virginia’s Rappahannock County, about a half hour outside the entrance of scenic Shenandoah National Park. In addition to offering riding lessons and training opportunities, Johnston operates clinics out of this facility and other locations and runs six- and 12-month internship programs for equestrian enthusiasts looking to become professionals.

Building Specifications
Comprised of rugged, premium-grade steel components, the metal riding arena stands 68’x68’x12’ in size once erect. It features a hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Dark Green roof with matching trim and a 4:12 pitch overhead that protects horses and riders from the elements, and it also boasts open walls, giving them access to fresh air, even when weather conditions are unfavorable.
The versatile, octagonal-shaped steel riding arena also features a 90-mph wind speed rating; an inclusion made in compliance with local building codes. Long-lasting and low maintenance, the building is highly damage-resistant, holding its own in the face of fire, moisture, pests and other potential sources of harm.
