Prefabricated Steel Woodworking Shop in Clarksville, Virginia

A resident of Clarksville, Virginia, needed a versatile, durable metal building to use as a personal woodworking space and tasked Sunward Steel with designing and engineering a steel building to meet his needs.

Sunward Steel stepped up to the plate, sending the building kit for this attractive and multifunctional metal building to southern Virginia’s Mecklenburg County in February 2021. Intended for year-round use in Virginia, the comfortable, climate-controlled metal workshop has 6” of WMP-VR-backed fiberglass insulation in the roof and another 4” of WMP-VR-backed fiberglass insulation in the walls, helping the inside maintain consistent temperatures while reducing the building owner’s reliance on heating and cooling systems.

The metal woodworking shop has three large windows that let natural sunlight inside, reducing the need for artificial heat during cooler months even more, and the insulation package also muffles noise, keeping distractions at a minimum and noise from becoming disruptive to anyone outside.

Equal parts functional and eye-catching, the metal shop building has Ash Gray paint and a complementing Charcoal Gray roof and trim. The exterior also boasts 4’ of Charcoal Gray wainscoting for added aesthetic appeal, while Charcoal Gray gutters and downspouts keep rain or snow from piling on top of the shop’s roof, helping minimize the chances of leaks, corrosion or water damage.

Offering an expansive 1,200 square feet of versatile, column-free floor space idea for storing woodworking supplies, using equipment and completing woodworking projects of various sizes, this metal workshop gives the owner a secure, all-season place to practice his hobby while staying comfortable, dry and protected from the elements.
