Winery And Tasting Room in South Hampton, New Hampshire
Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., was the proud provider and manufacturer of this pre-engineered steel winery building in South Hampton, New Hampshire, in October of 2006.
Engineered for use as a wine production facility on the grounds of Jewell Towne Vineyards, New Hampshire’s oldest winery, the building offers uncompromised strength and durability, creating a reliable, year-round place to produce wine. While the owners of the vineyard and winery have since retired, they began producing wine as a hobby in 1982 and eventually turned that hobby into a profitable, highly successful business.
In addition to the vineyard, itself, the property has an onsite tasting room. While it is no longer open to the public due to the owners’ retirement, it was once a popular setting for wine tastings and other special events, and the property continues to produce wine, albeit on a smaller, non-commercial scale.
Affordable, Fast-Raising Wineries, Breweries & Distilleries
Prefabricated steel buildings commonly undergo use as wineries, breweries and distilleries, and this is due in large part to their affordable, low maintenance nature. Easily configurable in terms of ceiling height, windows and doors, aesthetic elements, insulation and numerous other areas, steel buildings can easily accommodate beer, spirits or winemaking operations in virtually any size.
Located in coastal, southeastern New Hampshire, South Hampton is part of Rockingham County. Neighboring communities include Kensington, Seabrook, East Kingston and Newton, New Hampshire, as well as Amesbury, Massachusetts.

Building Specifications
Combining aesthetic appeal with the rugged durability life in New Hampshire demands, this metal winery features Dark Green trim and premium-quality steel construction, standing strong amidst heavy winds, extreme temperatures, snowfall and similar construction hazards.
Once erect, the steel winery building stands 30’x45’x21.75’, and it boasts a broad, space-maximizing clear span that eliminates interior supports, freeing up more room for wine-making efforts and storage. The building has high overhead clearance, creating plenty of room for wine barrels and large winemaking equipment, and its roof is comprised of hardwearing, 26-gauge Galvalume steel panels and has a 10:12 pitch.
The metal winery building has (1) 3070 walk door framed opening enclosing (1) 3070 walk door, and it also has several specifications that make it better-suited for New England’s variable climate. A 100-mph wind load is one such enhancement, and a 35-psf roof snow load is another.
