Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc. was pleased to manufacture and supply this pre-engineered metal building on behalf of a customer in Jackson, Mississippi, in May of 2001.
Currently, it serves as the primary sanctuary, auditorium, and worship center of the Hanging Moss Road Church of Christ, a religious organization that has served the surrounding community and welcomed the same ministering evangelist for more than 40 years. This addition to the existing church building allows the congregation to expand its services and recreational offerings, and worshippers often use the space for sports, parties, and other community events.

The components for this prefabricated steel church building arrived clearly labeled for easy erection, and, once raised, the church boasts a finished size of 100’x175’x20.’ It features an open, clear-span design, an attractive, Stone Beige-colored exterior and a Rustic Red roof with a 4:12 pitch overhead, which resists corrosion and keeps churchgoers protected from Mississippi’s sometimes unpredictable weather patterns.
Also featured in the church, which is comprised exclusively of the highest-quality steel components, are (2) 6070 commercial walk doors complete with 24”x30” window kits, closures and panic hardware. Additional key attributes include painted interior girts and purlins, which enhance the building’s aesthetic appeal, and a 6” eve gutter that extends around the entire structure. Other customizations made in accordance with local building codes and in consideration of the climate characteristics of the Jackson area include an 80-mph wind speed rating and a 5-psf snow load.
