Pre-Engineered Steel Farm Building in Jamestown, North Dakota
Sunward Steel fabricated a custom metal farm building for a farm owner in Jamestown, North Dakota, delivering the building kit just a short distance from one of Sunward’s manufacturing facilities while saving the buyer substantial money on shipping.
Now part of Trautman Farm, known for its no-till farming, inter-seeding and other innovative conservation practices, the building serves double-duty as a machine repair shop and storage shed, providing ample space for servicing farm equipment and machinery and storing tools, spare parts and other farm items.
The metal farm building boasts a traditional barn aesthetic that blends well with the surrounding landscape thanks to Rustic Red walls and Koko Brown trim and wainscoting. It also features several customizations that suit North Dakota’s variable climate and harsh winters, including gutters and downspouts that prevent rain, snow and ice from building up on the roof and compromising the building’s integrity.
Inside, the metal storage shed and repair shop has 10 large windows that flood the interior with natural light, creating a bright, inviting space for work and storage. The building’s clear-span interior maximizes floor space by eliminating the need for interior columns or trusses, leaving plenty of room for tools, equipment or maintenance supplies.
Versatile, attractive and built to last with only minimal maintenance, this steel farm building complements its rural surroundings while giving the owner a safe, year-round place to store assets, repair machinery and otherwise streamline farm operations.

Functional, durable and designed for North Dakota’s continental climate, this metal farm building plays an important role in Trautman Farm operations.
