Prefabricated Steel Workshop in Wappingers Falls, New York

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc. was honored to fabricate and supply this pre-engineered metal building on behalf of a client in Wappingers Falls, New York, in June of 2013.

Currently, it serves as a combination shop and office for Satisfixation LLC, which produces performance-based mechanical sculptures for display in urban environments. Typically placed in areas with heavy foot traffic, Satisfixation’s pieces seek to raise awareness about the nation’s current over-fixation of technology while shining a spotlight on the mounting stresses caused by increased urbanization.

A Rugged, Low-Maintenance Multipurpose Metal Building

Safe, sturdy and secure, this steel building gives Satisfixation a place to produce and store sculptures used in its roaming art exhibit, among them The Mobile Personal Climatification Unit (M.P.C.U.) The Mobile Personal Suburbanification Device (M.P.S.D.) and The Mobile Personal Illuminification System (M.P.I.S.). Thought-provoking and impossible to ignore, Satisfixation produces its pieces using a corporate alias, showcasing impractically designed products that focus on the lack of human interaction in an increasingly tech-focused world.

Located in southeastern New York’s Dutchess County, the village of Wappingers Falls has land in the towns of Wappinger and Poughkeepsie. The community lies about 87 miles outside Albany and about 93 miles from Hartford, Connecticut.
