Sunward Steel manufactured a modern, well-appointed steel storage building for a Chico, California wood business in July 2020.

Designed for use by Wineland Walnut Inc, a renowned purveyor of premium-quality wood products, the building attaches to another building already on the property and functions as a designated storage space for the business’s dark, dense walnut wood. The actual fabrication of the wood products takes place in the existing building, with the new addition streamlining operations by creating easy access to both areas.

The new metal building has Ash Gray paint with Polar White accent trim, resulting in a modern, professional exterior appearance. The roof and walls hold 6” of WMP-VR-backed fiberglass insulation, allowing the inside to maintain temperatures ideal for wood storage while lowering the business’s heating and cooling expenses.

The metal storage building has two main entry points: a traditional walk door and a large overhead garage door. It also meets local and IBC 18 wind load requirements, enhancing durability and structural integrity with respect for the region’s typical climate patterns.
