Prefabricated Steel Pub & Restaurant in Thornton, Colorado

When an entrepreneur in Thornton, Colorado, needed a building to house his new family-friendly neighborhood pub and hangout, he tasked Sunward Steel Buildings with bringing his vision to life. Sunward stepped up, sending the pre-engineered metal building kit that now serves as Thornton’s Billy Birch Pub & Yard to the north-central Colorado community in May of 2024.

Insulated, attractive and custom-designed to meet the owner’s needs, the metal restaurant building spans 5,700 square feet and has an outdoor yard and beer garden where guests can kick back in the sun and enjoy a cold drink. A large overhang creates covered outdoor space guests can sit under in the event of rain or snow, and high R-value insulation systems in the roof and walls keep customers comfortable and energy bills low during all four Colorado seasons.

The pub’s striking exterior is a prime example of the strength and beauty of modern steel construction, boasting Rustic Red paint paired with Black architectural trim and wainscoting. A pergola over the main entrance makes a strong first impression, enhancing the business’s curb appeal, and it also provides shade for guests awaiting a table inside. Gutters and downspouts protect the restaurant’s roof, outside walls and foundation against moisture, helping prevent water damage while extending the building’s lifespan.

Economical, sustainable and flexible in the event that a business’s needs change in the future, pre-engineered steel commercial buildings are also easy to customize to match a business’s brand identity, making them a smart investment for owners of restaurants, retail stores or other commercial enterprises.
