Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc. was proud to fabricate and provide this pre-engineered steel building on behalf of a customer in Dennis, Mississippi, in April of 2007.
These days, it operates as a church gymnasium on the grounds of Dennis’s Liberty Church of Christ, which offers Sunday and Wednesday services and welcomes worshippers from across the northeastern Mississippi community. In addition to a gymnasium used for athletics and activities, the prefabricated metal building features classrooms, offices, and a fully functioning commercial kitchen, serving as an important gathering place for church-goers and members of the surrounding region.

While the church, itself, welcomes worshippers throughout the week, this accompanying gym building serves as an important community resource, with community members regularly using it as a site for potlucks, special events, parties, meetings, basketball games, and similar gatherings.

Rugged, accommodating and inherently versatile, this premanufactured metal church building arrived ready to erect at its build site, with each component arriving in carefully marked packages to streamline and shorten the construction process. Once fully erect, the church gym stands an expansive 80’x160’x22’ in size, and it features premium-quality steel construction, ensuring the utmost strength and durability.
Overhead, the building features a rugged, hardwearing Burnished Slate roof with White trim and a 2:12 pitch, with the roof complementing the building’s attractive, Stone Beige exterior.
In addition to a broad, clear-span design that makes the most of usable space, the steel church building also features (4) framed openings, among them (1) 3070 commercial walk door opening enclosing (1) 3070 commercial walk door and (3) 6’4”x7’2” openings, each enclosing one of (3) 6’4”x7’2” walk doors.
Supplemental accommodations include 4” of white eave gutter along two sides of the steel building and 450 linear feet of 4” downspouts distributed across 18 locations. Meanwhile, a 90-mph wind speed rating and a 7.7-psf snow load further equip the building for life in northern Mississippi while ensuring adherence to local building code requirements.
