Church Gymnasium in Jamestown, Kentucky

Metal Church Building
Metal Church Building Metal Religious Building Metal Church Kentucky Metal Church Recreation

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., was the proud fabricator and supplier of this pre-engineered metal building in Jamestown, Kentucky, in August of 2002.

Originally purchased for use as a church gym by Jamestown Christian Church, the metal building has since changed hands, and it now serves the same purpose for the Jamestown First Church of the Nazarene. In addition to hosting regular hours of worship, the church operates a Sunday school, youth ministry and more out of this location, and the steel gym provides ample space for community functions, among them weddings, potlucks, fitness classes and other special events.

Key Church Gym Features & Customizations

Attractive, functional and easy and fast to erect, this large-scale metal church building boasts a finished size of 120’x140’x20’-30’. Misty Grey in color with a matching Misty Grey roof with a 2:12 pitch, the building features an open, clear-span design that eliminates obstructions and maximizes usable space.

Distributed throughout the steel gym, enhancing accessibility for users, are (3) framed openings. Included are (2) 3070 openings enclosing (2) 3070 walk doors and (1) 4070 opening enclosing (1) 4070 commercial walk door. A large eave gutter along two sides of the steel gym serves as an additional feature added to help divert water away from the steel gym’s foundation.

A 90-mph wind speed rating serves as another key characteristic; an inclusion added in consideration of the climate patterns typical of the region as well as the building code requirements in place in the area. Hardwearing, versatile and easy to maintain, the metal building serves a number of purposes for the Jamestown Church of the Nazarene and plays an important role in numerous athletic and social church and community events.

Flexible, Multifunctional Construction Solutions

Often used for both houses of worship and athletic arenas, pre-engineered steel buildings offer high ceilings that are ideal for sanctuaries, choir rooms, basketball courts and the like, and they also boast unobstructed interiors and are easily customizable so they can accommodate virtually any need or purpose.

Metal buildings are also inherently adaptable in the event that a need for additional space arises, and they are also easily recyclable once they reach the end of their life spans. Part of south-central Kentucky’s Russell County, the city of Jamestown is prone to hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters. The community lies about 80 miles outside Elizabethtown and about 96 miles east of Bowling Green.
