Steel School Storage Building in Duxbury, Vermont

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., had the honor of manufacturing and providing this pre-engineered steel storage building for a client in Duxbury, Vermont, in July of 2008.

Ever since, the building has functioned as a maintenance building and janitorial staff workshop on the grounds of Crossett Brook Middle School, which serves several hundred local students in fifth through eighth grades.

The metal storage and maintenance building houses extra desks, chairs, and similar supplies when not in use, freeing up more space within the school building, itself. It also provides a safe, all-season space to house the school’s cleaning and janitorial supplies.

Once erect, the steel building stands 30’x30’x9’ in size and has a clear-span design that maximizes usable storage space by eliminating interior obstructions.

Boasting an attractive Cinnamon Brown exterior, the building blends well with the surrounding landscape, and it has rugged, hardwearing roof has a 6:12 pitch and complementing Burnished Slate-colored trim.

The metal maintenance building has (2) framed openings offering easy access inside, which include (1) 3068 walk door and (1) 15’x8’ overhead door opening ideal for moving larger items in and out. A 90-mph wind speed serves as an additional customization that complies with applicable building code requirements while making the storage building better-adapted for its environment.
