Customization Options

At Sunward Steel, we understand that everyone has their own unique needs. That’s why we offer fully-customizable airplane hangar kits. Not only can we design and engineer your prefabricated metal aircraft hangar to your size specifications, but we can also outfit your kit with any of the following customization options at an additional cost:

Insulation Packages and Insulated Metal Panels

Insulating your hangar is critical if you’d like to create a comfortable, energy-efficient space. We offer various insulation products (including single and double-layer insulation packages, foam-insulated panels, and more) to help keep your hangar at the ideal temperature.

By implementing this extra layer of protection, you can help ensure your aircraft is safe from extreme temperatures and maintain a pleasant environment for any personnel.

Thermal Blocks

Thermal blocks are specially designed pieces of insulation that can be used to ensure optimal energy efficiency in your airplane hangar. Thermal blocks act as an additional layer of protection in your hangar and help to keep out any unwanted moisture, dust, or debris.

Doors, Windows, Vents, & Skylights

Choosing the right hangar doors is critical to the overall function of your hangar. You can choose from various doors, including bi-fold, sliding, curtain stacking, and hydraulic doors. You can also include man doors to make accessing the hangar easier.

You can also add skylights and windows to let in more sunlight. Finally, you can add vents to your kit to ensure that your hangar remains well-ventilated to maintain indoor air quality.

Fans and Solar Panels

Ventilation is critical for maintaining an ideal environment in your hangar. You can install fans to your hangar’s existing ventilation system to maximize air circulation. Additionally, you can install solar panels in your hangar. This is an excellent way to reduce your energy costs and make your hangar more sustainable for the long term.

Wainscoting

Wainscoting is a type of decorative paneling used to add visual interest to the inside or outside of your building. Wainscoting is a great way to add visual interest and texture to your metal aircraft hangar while protecting it from wear and tear.

Cupolas

Cupolas are decorative structures that are typically placed atop the roof of a building. These structures add visual interest to your hangar while also providing ventilation to the interior. Cupolas are available in various sizes and styles.

Gutters & Downspouts

Every building needs a gutter system that includes downspouts, including aircraft hangars. An effective gutter and downspout system can direct water away from your building’s foundation and other areas that could be damaged by the accumulation of moisture.

Exterior Finishes

The look of your airplane hangar matters, which is why we offer a dozen different color options for your metal aircraft hangar kit’s siding, roof, trim, and corner trim.

Frequently Asked Questions

We suggest doing some research before investing in a prefabricated metal building, whether it’s from us at Sunward Steel Buildings or not. The following are some of the routine questions we get about metal buildings that we hope will help give you some of the information you need:

Should I insulate my building?

Insulating your building is highly recommended if you want to ensure your aircraft hangar is a comfortable and energy-efficient space. Depending on what kind of insulation products you choose, it can also help protect against extreme temperatures, moisture, dust, and debris.

What is the best roof pitch for my building?

The best roof pitch for your metal building depends on several factors, such as your hangar’s size and shape, its intended use, and local weather conditions. It’s worth noting that the lower your roof pitch is, the less it will cost.

For a more detailed answer, consult with one of our experienced steel building specialists, who can recommend the optimal roof pitch for your specific needs.

How can I customize my building?

At Sunward Steel Buildings, we offer a wide range of customization and design options for your aircraft hangar. You can choose from various finishes, doors, windows, skylights, vents, and fans to ensure that your hangar meets all your requirements.

What Is The Average Cost Of a Steel Building?

Although it would be more convenient if you could just get a cost-per-square-foot estimate, there are too many factors that contribute to the cost of a steel building to be able to give an exact answer.

The cost of your metal building is going to depend on the size, design choices, the features you want, the location of your hangar (and the specific building codes and regulations you must abide by), and the project’s complexity.
