Economical, Low-Maintenance Metal Automotive Buildings

Prefabricated steel buildings have long been a popular construction choice for buyers with automotive interests. Often used as garages, repair shops, showrooms, and dealerships, among other common automotive uses, steel buildings maintain their structural integrity and functionality extremely well over time, providing economical, long-lasting alternatives to wood buildings.

Rhode Island’s state capital, the city of Providence is part of Providence County. Situated near the head of the Narragansett Bay, Providence sits about 5 miles from Cranston and about 8 miles outside Johnston.

Building Specifications

Delivering unparalleled strength and durability, this metal auto body features top-of-the-line steel construction and is 75’x100’x16’ in size when raised. It has a clear span that maximizes usable garage space by eliminating interior supports, and it also has a high overhead clearance that leaves plenty of room for car lifts and similar equipment used in automotive repair efforts.

Boasting a Stone Beige exterior with custom stucco textured panels and a complementing Galvalume roof with custom Black trim and a 1:12 pitch, the steel auto shop offers impressive curb appeal, while (6) framed openings offer building users access inside. Found throughout the building are (4) 3070 commercial walk door systems and (2) 16’x12 overhead door openings.

Meanwhile, a high-performance, high R-value insulation system keeps the building comfortable for year-round use in New England. On its roof, the auto body shop has a 9.5” double-layer R-30 VRR Plus-faced insulation system that includes all banding and screws, while the walls contain a 6” layer of R-19 VRR Plus insulation complete with double-sided tape, patch tape, and screws. The insulation package leads to much lower energy bills for the building and also helps prevent the formation of condensation inside.

The building also has a tongue and groove system that helps prevent thermal leaks and several climate-related customizations that better equip it for life in Rhode Island. One such inclusion is a 133-mph wind speed rating and a 35-psf snow load is another.
