Prefabricated Steel Farm Buildings in Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., fabricated and delivered two pre-engineered steel buildings to a customer in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Sunward delivered the first building, an agricultural shed, in 2002, and the property owner purchased a second Sunward metal agricultural building in 2018.

Both metal farm buildings offer superior strength and durability and help keep the owner’s hay, lumber, farm equipment and other assets safe and dry during all four seasons. They also serve as safe, covered places the owner can use for work when climate conditions make it difficult to do so outside.

Building Specifications

The main shed purchased in 2002 stands 30’x50’x15.6’ and has high ceilings and a broad clear span that creates a column-free interior. Cinnamon Brown in color with a matching roof and complementing Burnished Slate trim, the building has a heavy-duty, 26-gauge gable roof with a mild 3:12 pitch offering protection overhead.

The steel farm building has (1) end wall that remains open, making it easy to move farm equipment and supplies in and out. It also has an 80-mph wind speed rating in accordance with local building codes.

The 2018 Addition

The smaller metal farm building delivered in 2018 features high-quality steel construction and is 15’x50’15.5’x11.5’ once erect. Koko Brown in color with Burnished Slate architectural trim, the agricultural building has a hardy, corrosion-resistant Galvalume single-slope roof with a 3:12 pitch protecting the interior from above.

The building remains open along its left end wall, making it easy to access, and a high, 71.4-psf snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating keep it compliant with the building and engineering code requirements in place in Steamboat Springs.

Economical, Customizable Metal Farm Buildings

Often purchased for use as livestock arenas, horse barns or hay, animal or equipment storage areas, pre-engineered steel farm buildings serve a multitude of purposes and require very little from their owners in terms of upkeep.

The owner of this pair of buildings was so pleased with his first Sunward purchase that he added the second farm building to his property 16 years later. Located in northern Colorado, Steamboat Springs is part of Routt County. It sits about 157 miles outside Denver and about the same distance from Fort Collins.
