Prefabricated Commercial Steel Office Building in Dubuque, Iowa

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., was pleased to manufacture and supply this pre-engineered commercial steel office building in Dubuque, Iowa, in July of 2003.

Ever since, it has served as the corporate headquarters of Jim Runde Upholstery, a provider of custom upholstery services for homes, businesses, boats and automobiles. Offering more than 30 years of upholstery experience, the company proudly serves residents of eastern Iowa, western Illinois and Wisconsin and manufactures furniture covers, automotive covers, boat covers and awnings, among other products. The company also acquired Ace Awnings after the owner retired and will continue to manufacture these goods as it has done for the past 10 years.

Economical, Adaptable Corporate Buildings

Prefabricated steel buildings have become increasingly popular among business owners seeking affordable, durable places to set up shop, due in large part to their highly customizable nature and low lifelong costs of ownership. Compared to wood construction, steel buildings are far more resistant to damage, and they also require far less from the owner in terms of regular maintenance.

This particular steel building has served as Jim Runde Upholstery’s home base for close to two decades, maintaining its structural integrity, beauty and functionality every step of the way. Situated along the Mississippi River, the city of Dubuque is part of east-central Iowa’s Dubuque County. Part of the Tri-State area, Dubuque sits about 15 miles northwest of Galina and about 92 miles outside Rockford, Illinois.
