Energy efficient and highly versatile, the building combines an agricultural shop with a garage space, giving its owner a multifunctional, all-season place to work, store vehicles and other assets or utilize for any number of other purposes. Offering the rugged durability Montana’s unpredictable climate demands, the building combines heavy-duty steel construction with supreme functionality, protecting stored vehicles and equipment from the elements, pests and other potential construction hazards.
Steel Shop & Garage Specifications
Hardwearing, reliable and low maintenance, this custom-designed steel building stands 24’x30’x10’ in size and has a broad clear span, making the most of usable space inside. Constructed from rugged, premium-grade steel components, it boasts a Stone Beige-colored exterior, while its Burnished Slate-colored roof has a 3:12 pitch and is comprised of long-lasting Galvalume metal panels.
The building owner also chose to have the building insulated at the time of construction, which can result in substantial savings when compared with retrofitting it down the line. Installed in the roof of the shop and garage are 6” of R-19 WMP-VR fiberglass insulation, while 4” of WMP-VR insulation sits within the walls. It also features several other accommodations made with Montana’s highly changeable climate in mind, among them a 4” snow gutter, a 115-mph wind speed rating and a 33-psf snow load.
Other customizations and features include (4) framed openings, among them (1) 3’4”x7’2” walk door opening, (2) 8’x8’ openings and (1) 3’x3’ window.
