Mini Storage Buildings in Cathlamet, Washington

Sunward Steel fabricated and supplied a pair of identical steel mini storage buildings for Greenwood Storage, LLC, a business located in Cathlamet, Washington, in July 2022.

The buildings offer convenient drive-up access and contain (32) storage units available for rent between them. Each unit has 29-gauge steel partitions separating it from the next and provides superior protection for home goods, seasonal items, business assets or belongings housed during a move, ensuring possessions stay safe and secure when not in active use. While the mini storage buildings serve a functional purpose by adding much-needed storage space to the area, they also have street appeal thanks to Charcoal Gray exterior paint, Ash Gray trim and Satin White doors.

While self-storage offers benefits for residents of all areas, it’s especially desirable and useful for those living in Washington State. For starters, the wet climate of the Pacific Northwest can damage goods that aren’t stored properly, causing mold or mildew to develop over time. Washington is also home to an abundance of outdoor enthusiasts, many of whom need storage space to house ski equipment, climbing gear or other seasonal athletic or outdoor equipment when not in use.

While the addition of this 32-unit self-storage facility helps accommodate local demand for secure and accessible storage space, it also contributes to the convenience and quality of life for residents and businesses in the area, serving as a valuable community resource.

Building Specifications

Each metal mini storage building in the complex is 20’x80’x8.5’ and has a gable roof with a slight 2:12 pitch that keeps rain or snow from piling up on top. Each renter can access his or her rented unit through one of (32) 9’x7’ Satin White mini storage doors and can drive directly up to his or her rented space, streamlining the process of loading or unloading items.

Engineered to meet or exceed the stringent building code requirements in place in the region, the mini storage buildings also boast 97-mph wind speed ratings and 50.4-psf roof snow loads.

Located in southwestern Washington along Ocean Beach Highway, the town of Cathlamet is part of Wahkiakum County. It sits west of Longview and across the Columbia River from Westport, Oregon.
