Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., fabricated and delivered this pre-engineered agricultural metal building in Sparta, Georgia, in April of 2022.

Used for agricultural purposes, the metal building features an open, unobstructed interior that maximizes space for tractors, other farm equipment, or work. There is also an attached, roof-only building that creates additional covered outdoor space for the owner.

Insulated, energy-efficient, and engineered with the buyer’s geographic needs and stylistic preferences in mind, this building now functions as a safe, secure place to store farm equipment or vehicles while helping them maintain their functionality and resale value.

Building Specifications

Engineered using premium-quality steel parts, the main farm building is 40’x80’x14.5’ when erect and has an open, clear-span design and a Galvalume gable roof with a 2:12 pitch offering protection from above. The attached, roof-only metal lean-to is 20’x80’x11.17’x14.4’ and has a single-slope roof with a 2:12 pitch. Both structures have attractive Saddle Tan paint with complementing Hunter Green architectural trim.

The enclosed steel agricultural building has (6) framed door and window openings distributed throughout. Included are (3) 3’4”x7’2” walk door openings, (3) 12’x12’ overhead door openings, (1) 14’x14’ overhead door opening and (1) 4’x4’ window opening.

The main farm building also has insulation in its roof and walls, which keeps its interior comfortable, regardless of outside temperatures, while leading to a lifelong reduction in energy costs. The roof of the farm building contains a 6” layer of WMP-VR-based fiberglass insulation, while the walls house 4” of WMP-VR-faced insulation.

A 3.5-psf roof snow load and a 115-mph wind rating are additional customizations that keep the metal farm building compliant with Sparta’s building codes.
