Sunward Steel Buildings, was the proud supplier of this pre-engineered Equestrian building with horse stables in 1998. Proudly made in the USA, and manufactured at our South Carolina factory, we delivered this building to its home location in Freeport, Maine.

Previously owned by LL Bean it provides educational programs to the public as associated through its retail outlets, founded Outdoor Discovery Schools. With Equestrian related sports in high demand, the executive team was inspired to design an extensive building to host horse enthusiasts, instructors, and students alike.  They looked to Sunward Steel to manufacture a gable framed building with a with clear-span design while providing a commodious, cutting-edge facility dedicated to Equestrian arts.

Successfully surpassing a list of complex specifications, Sunward delivered a building not only noteworthy of L.L. Beans’ distinguished standards but also established a prominent presence throughout New England as a premier Equestrian facility.

Frequently used as stables, horse barns, or riding arenas, or as hay and tack storage areas, prefabricated metal equestrian buildings provide first-rate protection for horses and riders while requiring only minimal upkeep throughout the years. Building Specifications

Now operated by Freeport Equestrian Center, the building stands at an expansive 75’x185’x16’. With a correlating Polar White exterior and trim package, we achieved a sophisticated contrast that complimented the Misty Grey tinted roof. Fashioned with a subtle 1.25:12 roof pitch, 90-mph wind speed rating, a 43-psf snow load and a 6” canopy insulation package, all offering optimum protection from the harsh winter elements.
