Metal Firehouse Building in Gallatin, Texas
Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., was proud to fabricate and supply this pre-engineered metal building for a customer in Gallatin, Texas, in June of 1997.

Currently, the Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department boasts about 20 members, and the department has experienced substantial growth in recent years, leading to the construction of a second department facility.
Gallatin’s Steel Firehouse: By the Numbers
This prefabricated metal firehouse features an arch-style design, which frees up usable interior space by eliminating posts, trusses or other obstructions, and it is comprised of 1,578 square feet of 29-gauge hi-rib steel wall panels. Metal arch buildings are typically relatively easy to erect due to their simple design, and once raised, this particular steel arch building stands 50’x62’ in size.
The front and rear ends of the fire department are open, and each end features flashing that helps prevent moisture from penetrating the building and seeping inside. A 90-mph wind speed rating serves as an additional arch building customization added in adherence to building codes currently in place across Gallatin.
A Trusted Supplier of Steel Government & Municipal Buildings
Economical, sustainable and highly customizable, metal municipal buildings are becoming increasingly popular in numerous communities across Texas and the nation, many of which are grappling with tight budgets and timelines. Generally cheaper and easier to raise than alternative construction options, steel government and municipal buildings also offer low lifelong costs of ownership because they aren’t typically susceptible to damage caused by wind, rain, heat and other hazards.
This particular prefabricated steel firehouse has served as the department’s home for 22 years, and it will likely continue to serve an important role in the department’s fire suppression and other efforts for generations to come.
