Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., had the honor of fabricating and providing this pre-engineered steel building on behalf of a customer in Mineral, Virginia, in June of 2002.

Nowadays, it serves as a commercial building for Lake Region Repair, Inc., a leading provider of boats and boating accessories located just a few miles from Lake Anna and Lake Anna State Park. Established in 2002, the family-owned business caters to residents and visitors across central Virginia, including those hailing from Richmond, Fredericksburg and Charlottesville. All products sold at Lake Region Repair undergo manufacturing in the United States or Canada, and the business offers a broad range of boats, toys and accessories from well-known brands, including Shoremaster, Mercury and Sea-Doo, among multiple others.

Building Specifications

Rugged, accommodating and designed to withstand strong winds, fires, moisture and other construction concerns, the building features premium-quality steel construction and stands 50’x60’x16’ in size. It features a clear-span design, meaning there are no interior obstructions inside taking up unnecessary space, and the building itself boasts a Dark Green exterior. Overhead, a robust, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with White trim and a 2:12 pitch offers reliable protection from above.

Additional building characteristics and customizations include (9) 11’4” wall lights that illuminate the interior for workers and several features that work to divert water away from the building’s foundation, among them eave gutters along two sides of the building and 100 linear feet of downspouts across six locations. A 70-mph wind speed rating serves as an additional customization made in compliance with local building codes and in consideration of the region’s typical weather patterns.
