The rugged, open-wall metal building currently undergoes use as a parking canopy for Albuquerque’s edition of Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Co., which operates in New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. The company offers daily hot air balloon rides in all three locations when climate conditions permit and has a nearly 40-year history in the industry. In addition to offering private balloon rides and appearing at the city’s annual International Balloon Fiesta, Rainbow Ryders also hosts weddings for couples seeking a unique and memorable in-air ceremony.

Offering unmatched structural integrity, the roof-only steel building creates a safe, secure place to store vehicles while keeping them out of the intense sunlight and other climate-related hazards associated with life in central New Mexico.

While mostly used for automotive storage, this metal building also sometimes houses hot air balloons, themselves, and it has high overhead clearance that allows it to accommodate stored vehicles and assets in a broad range of sizes. Misty Grey in color, the steel canopy boasts an attractive and eye-catching exterior, and its corrosion-resistant Galvalume steel roof has White paint, matching Misty Grey trim and a mild 1:12 roof pitch.

Other notable customizations include a 90-mph wind speed rating and a 20-psf snow load. These additions enhance the canopy’s strength and durability while keeping it compliant with applicable building code requirements.
